What might be the problem if your 1993 Jeep Cherokee won't start?
It could be your fuseable like if... If you have lost all power and your battery is fine you can try two things: one you can turn the ignition switch and them your transmission to neutral possition and try starting it then. if this works nothing is wrong with your transmission just a chip or wiering in it the cuts power to start. the other thing is to shake the cable that runs from the battery to the starter that might work. If you hear a click and hum, but no turning of the engine, then that's the starter. Knock on it lightly with a wrench (look for two large can-like things mounted next to each other under the Jeep, just in front of the passenger set.) This will work for now, but it should be replaced.
If the problem is intermittant, as in it will run fine then shut off or not start, then the crank position sensor is a likely problem. It sends the spark signal and is notorious for causing the afore mentioned problems. It is located on the top of the transmission bell housing a little to the drivers side.

Your 1993 4x4 jeep Cherokee just got returned from being stolen battery is fully charged The alarm does not work and the vehicle won't start help if you can?
If the clock keeps resetting in a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the problem is probably with the battery. It is quite possible that the battery is going dead after the vehicle is parked, leaving just enough life in it to restart the car. It can also be an alternator problem causing the battery to be drained.
Why would the speedometer odometer and cruise control all quit at once on 1993 jeep grande Cherokee?
I own a 1993 Integra and had this very problem for years. Canadian Tire who was my mechanic shop for years were unable to diagnose the problem and finally when I switched mechanic it was solved. The problem was electrical in nature and had to do with faulty wiring to the leading from the ignition to the gas tank.
I have a 1993 Jeep GC Larado also. Recently I didn't have spark either. I replaced my coil: didn't fix the problem. Then I started to think that it might be as simple as a fuse. There is a fuse panel under the hood where all the ABS controls are, inside is a 20amp fuse that controls the ignition. Mine was blown, once I replaced it, the vehicle started perfectly.
well i read somewhere that 1993 jeep grand Cherokees with the 2.5l had a terrible engine problem where it would vibrate from either the engine mounts not installed properly or another factor. this is the only year with this problem. if it doesn't have a 2.5l, idk what ur problem is. P.S. they stopped putting the 2.5l engines in the 1993s when this problem arose. buy another year or engine. If it is shaking while…
