1990 Honda accord sports drive edition-sports drive has been disconnected for years yet still causes problems here and there. i cant get car out of park unless i put key in shifter key slot put in neautral then start it other wise cant put it in gear,couples times as driving it shifted and down shifter all on its own and other times it wont go into 4th but i do have to manually shift. any ideas besides torque convertor or tcm (tansmission control module) i was thinking could be trani filter however if it were- the car wouldnt be stuck in park or shift on its own occasionally

Speedometer and odometer not working in Honda Accord?
Try letting the reset knob snap back when you release it. Do it a couple of times. Sometimes the mechanism doesn't re-engage and you have to work the reset buttom a few times. If your speed sensor is not at fault, then the problem lies within the electronics of the speedometer iteslf. Buying a used one will not gaurantee the problem will be resolved or will not return.
