They sell a bypass pulley but this is difficult to change. (you have to pull the compressor to get to the three bolts) The original belt is a 1073k6. The 1073 mean 107.3 inches. The belt needed to just bypass the compressor is 34 inches shorter, but they do not sell a 733k6 belt. They do sell a 735k6. This will work fine if your tensioner is in good shape. But the bypass pulleys are cheap and keep the right set up. Good luck. On my 1992 Ciera, they even had a diagram as to how the belt is installed "with AC" and "no AC" and the picture eliminated the compressor for the no AC option. If the manufacture shows an option without a compressor, I wonder why all the part stores don't have that info.
yes
can you bypass a 2001 oldsmobile aurora ac compressor?
how do you bypass passlock system
88.50 in belt
how do you bypass the security system on a 1997 olds delta 88
Bypass the air conditioning on a 1998 Dodge Stratus with a smaller serpentine belt.
probably
You don't bypass it, you replace it. It doesn't cost that much
93.5 inches for the bypass
yes you can
Yes it can be done, you're going to have to measure with a string basically and tie a knot at the string once you've ran it around all the pulleys you want to turn. Take that string to the parts store and have them go through their belt assortment and find the closest one. Then you will have to take the slack out of by adjusting your alternator in or out
I just disconnected a main connector from the viper alarm
I'll get a link and post it soon
If you could bypass it easily it wouldn't be much of an anti-theft device now would it?
need a diagram on how a serpetine belt goes on
The serpentine should route the same as with the AC except fro the AC compressor. The belt will go straight past the compressor, so you will need a shorter belt to make the bypass work.
You can't bypass with a belt alone. You have to by a bypass pulley kit. The new pulley takes the place of the ac compressor and you use the same size belt.
A smaller belt
found this bypass pulley: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/ACBypassPulley/Dodge/GrandCaravan/1AEPM00050/1089407
I have seen on an Olds forum that the belt for the 86 olds 88 w/o a/c will work. It should be 75.5 in instead of 103 (the 1986 88 belt is 76.1 in)
To install a serpentine belt for a 1995 Cadillac Seville just bypass the compressor and then remove the old one placing the new one in an exact arrangement.
I presume you mean the A/C compressor. The easiest way is to buy a serpentine belt for the model of the vehicle you have without A/C fitted, and then use that. This is a known temporary cure for roadside assistance.
I have a95 sl1 saturn with a bad ac compress that rattles and want torerout the serpentine belt off the compress. What is the typical cost and is it worth it?
I t is either a 79 or an 85mm belt
78 inch 6 rib belt.
