there are several different varieties of the turbo 350 trans. some were short shaft some were long shaft. your best bet is to actually measure it.
Probably not. It will likely be too short.
No it will NOT interchange. The 350 and 400 turbo are actually VERY different transmissions.
Single shaft turbo ?
You can but you will have to change or alter the drive shaft also.
There were turbo 350's with both a short and long tail shaft that fit a chevy. Long shaft were common from 71-76.
The length of the output shaft
The turbo charger is powered from the cars exhaust gases this is why you get turbo lag the super charger is powerd directly from the cars crank shaft therefor it builds up speed instantly so there is no lag the power is there right away
Turbo is a nickname for the proper turbocharger. Turbocharged simply means it's equipped with a turbocharger or turbo for short.
the 2wd turbo 350 has a longer tail shaft NEW ANSWER: The center shaft in a 4x4 transmission is longer then a 2 wheel drive trans. The reason is that it has a transfur case on the end of it, and the center shaft must fit into the transfur case to make it work.
If you have a car that came with a long shaft 350, it would be a big deal to put a short shaft 350 in it. The tailshaft mount would need to be relocated and the driveshaft would need to be replaced.
well i see why not... the only thing you got to change is it the clutch since its different teeth... and if you are putting the turbo transmission in the N/A car and its a 2+2 (four seater) leave the drive shaft.. its slightly longer than the turbo drive shaft well that's it.. good luck buddy -Ivan
