you need the tools to change the disc brake padsand one additional wrench or socket.
remove the wheel
remove the brake caliper (thing that pushes the brake pads together against the rotor ) 2 bolts
remove the brake pads
remove the 2 bolts holding the brake caliper carrier from the end of the axle. these will be very tight and hard to turn
rotor can now slide off
this is very easy
tools you need for job
Brake rotors are suppose to be easy to change out if your a mechanic and know how to use tools. It is also a good idea to leave it to a professional if your not very familiar with what you are doing.
You do not need a torque wrench when replacing brake pads and rotors. Some of the tools needed to change the rotors and pads are the c-clamp, sockets, wrench, grease, and brake cleaner.
No special tools are needed!
Lug wrench, metric socket set, "C" clamp
these rotors are slide on, so the are rusted around hub, you could beat them loose with a hammer or if can use air tools an air chissel with hammer end would do the trick
No, normal mechanics tools.
Sadly the replacement of front rotors on 95-99 accents require special tools anly availble at a service shop. Rotor replacement requires removal of the hubs and they are press fitted. Some shops have equipment to resurface the rotors while still installed on the vehicle if the rotors are not damaged.
the front rotors easy, normal hand tools like he said, but im pretty sure the rear you need the tool to turn in the piston. you can't just squeeze them in with a c clamp or a pair of channel locks.AnswerNormal hand tools, nothing special.FOR YOUR REAR, GO TO AUTOZONE , RENTAL. 65.00, IF YOU RETURN THE TOOL, YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK, AND IF YOU DONT, ITS PAID FOR WITH THE "RENTAL" FEE
there's 2 of em (left and right). just pull up the silver engine cover (no tools) then release the latches on each filter and replace. can be done in 2 minutes with no tools. :)
