Answer:
There are 4 manual trannys that came on the Bll. The Mazda(toyo Kogyo) 5 speed ('84-'87)(25.937") , the Mitsubishi FM-145 5 speed( '85-'87)(25.937") & FM-146 5 speed('88 up)(28.687") And the Mazda M5od('88 up)(not sure on lenght). Thes also came in the Range and will fit. All of these will bolt up to the 2.8, 2.9 and 4.0 engines. The 3.0 bolt pattern is different. the lenghts are also different so you may need to swap both driveshafts also. The Mazda M5od is the strongest of these trannys. This site has more info.

A A4LD AUTO TRANS WILL FIT A 2.9 LITRE ENGINE FROM 85 TO 92
The 3.0 liter is not as interchangeable as the 4.0 liter. The 4.0 liter is interchangeable with the a4ld from the bronco 2 2.8 and 2.9's. The 4r55e and 5r55e's also all interchange with minor wiring differences.
no the transmissions are different and it wont work.
The Bronco 2 was sold between 1984 and 1990. The Ford Bronco 2 was a compact SUV. It was smaller than a full-sized Bronco. It was succeeded by Ford Explorer.
There is the FULL SIZE BRONCO and then the Bronco II ( the Bronco II is smaller , eventually replaced by the Ford Explorer)
Probably not because the Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco 2 were not very good by their motor.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but the transmission for a 4x4 has a different tailpiece on it so the transfer case can be bolted to it
NO. From 1993 to 1999 are all the same EXCEPT the 1996 and 1997 They are the only 2 that are different. You really need a 1998 or 1999 4L60E transmission. remember that the 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive transmissions are NOT interchangeable.
