I was looking at the 2001 Ford Ranger Owner Guide and it shows that Ford used two types : Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant ( green colored meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A ) or Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant ( yellow colored meeting Ford specification WSS-M97B51-A1 ) The Owner Guide also shows ( add the coolant type that the vehicle was originally equipped with ) I guess that is fine if you are the original owner and have never changed to a different color antifreeze
