Check this link to a site that I was using to check my Trooper's trans this morning. drivetrain.com
700r trans
the actual transmission that came in a 1981 s10 2.8 was a 200 3 speed automatic
There is no such vehicle. Chevrolet didn't begin producing the S10 until 1982.
the Chevy s10 did not start until 1982!
*edit* They didn't make the s10 "truck" until '82. Get your facts straight.
If it's a 3 speed, it's a TH-350. If it's 4 speed, it was the TH-200C (metric).the th350 did not come with the small bell housing so its either 200c or 700r4 in 82 it would br 200 c since the 2.8 has the same bellhousing as a 4 cyl.
Wrong cause i own a 5spd 1981 Chevrolet S10 Durango
A friend and I are very confused. We would like to know when Chevrolet started production of Dodge Trucks as suggested in the above?
Chevy did make a s10 with the durango sticker on the tailgate as well as a blazer with a similar label.Chevy started production of the S10 mid of 1981 but did not start sales until 1982 so all paper work and manuals will state 1982. The only time you may see 1981 labeled would be the year of manufacturing. This really throws off many of folks but Chevy has clearly stated that the S10's debut is 1982 not 1981. S10 Blazer did not come into production until the following year of 1983.
1981-1982 Chevy s-10 with 2.8L V6 automatic transmission TH200C
In theory a rear wheel drive
front or rear wheel drive?
Nope, all vw trucks 80-84 are front wheel drive.
Who said it won't ? It will fit right in there with NO problems
Please specify ford, chevy, dodge, import, you say front axle, by saying that it is presumed this is a 4 wheel drive, if it is not a 4 wheel drive then you could be speaking of the spindle or lower control arm, given the manner in which you present the question you should take it to an expert, there are just too many answers given the generality of the question
It is on the side of the transmission were the shifter cable hooks to the trans.
Chevy didn't make a 1981 Celebrity
Wheel of Fortune - 1981 is rated/received certificates of: Australia:G
no ECM's in a 1981
Yes, it is. However, there is separate gear oil in the final drive of the Goldwing, as it is shaft driven.
Anything can be done with enough work. However after 1981, f bodies had chevy engines rather than the Pontiac. The Chevy trans will not bolt to the Pontiac block willingly.
