Jacob's Ladder is a Type of Christ

Jacob "...dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it." (Gen 28:12)

in John 1:51 Jesus said, "…Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man."

Just like the Word "Calvary" the word "ladder" only occurs once in your King James Bible, signifying that there is but one way and one way only to get to Heaven.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." There's just no other way to get to God!

Jesus is THE way and "He that…climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber."

Jacob's LadderThis refers to a ladder which Jacob saw in a dream while traveling to visit Laban.

The ladder is symbolic of the way in which we can reach heaven, one step at a time, As we gain knowledge so we reach for the next rung of the ladder.
