Fascism in Spain "spread" through conquest, so General Francisco Franco's ability to mobilize large numbers of soldiers strategically against his Republicanist adversaries was critical in spreading fascism in Spain. Franco's troops both came from the Spanish legions in Morocco and from the assistance of Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy that sent weapons and troops to aid Franco's Nationalists.

The fascism didn't spread over Spain as in Germany or Italy. There were some filo-fascists groups before the civil war, but the national band wasn't fascist at all. Nevertheless the Franco's government used some external signs of fascism, but in general is not considered a fascist regime.

The fascism existing in Spain is easily explanable as a reacition against the comunist violence then the PSOE, CNT and PCE used among all "disidents" in the previous years.
