it is quite easy to concentrate on Watergate which sadly overlooks a decent presidential record.

Nixons 3 biggest achievements were -

1 - Fully implimenting desegregation of schools.

2 - Ending Vietnam under acceptable circumstances.

3 - Opening up relationships with Russia/China.

By his own admission Nixon prefered dealing with foreign policy to that of domestic however as a domestic leader he achieved a lot considering he came into power with a Democrat heavy senate.

When Nixon 1st came into power America was in recession, was deeply involved in Vietnam and had great domestic problems with race.

It can argueably be claimed that by the time of his resignation he solves all of these problems by simply implimenting hard line politics.
