well before the war, Europe was a tangle of alliances everyone had trust issues and everything was very tense.. franz Ferdinand of austria was shot in Serbia by a group called the black hand (they were serbs )... this pissed off austria, and they declared war on Serbia... bam, how it started (: hope that helped? lol
