Education, Luther did not understand why The Bible was read in a latin, a language that the people did not understand and that it should be for all - not just the educated clergy. He felt it should be read and studied so the ordinary person could understand. He also sought for it to be printed so people could read it at home and teach themselves which was not allowed

The major reason for the Reformation, which erupted in Europe in the 16th century, was twofold: Church doctrine had come to be seen as deficient (or, simply, false) and, even more importantly, a large number of Church officials and practices had been finally judged as corrupt and/or inept. Once the German monk, Martin Luther, publicly protested on both of these counts in a noticeable way (in 1517), numerous other concerned reformers were inspired to do the same.

Henry VIII wanted to remarry- there were no religious motive for england to to align itself with the protestant rebolt against the pope and rome, but henry VIII had personal and political motives because he needed a wife who could produce a male heir, so he needed to remarry which was something the catholic church would not let him do.
