I had the same problem with a 1992 Park Avenue with the 3800 engine. I first replaced the electronic ignition but that did not fix the problem. I then replaced the crankshaft heat sensor. That fixed my problem.
If you lights do not dim when turning key, then probably your starter.

Hey AJay==Yes, it could be the fuel pump. It could be the relay also. If it won't start, listen when you turn the ignition on and you shouod hear the pump run for 2 seconds. The relay is in the stack of relays in the middle of the firewall. GoodluckJoe I found out that my crank sensor needed replaced. I also won a 92 Buick LeSabre and sometime ago had the same problem. What was causing it to not start sometimes was a faulty ignition module. Cost me about $585.00 to replace it. Good luck.
