Check the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) located in the back side of the transfer case. Check all the fuses also.
There are several things that can cause shifting problems in your 1989 Chevrolet Blazer transmission. The most common cause of shifting problems is a lack of transmission fluid. Broken shifting forks can also cause transmission shifting problems.
Could be several reasons, need to know aprox where it is leaking from.
Blazer does not take off like it should. sluggih slow take off then after it gets going it does wee.
Possibly a vacuum problem or transmission solenoid. This will have to be properly diagnosed in order to definitively determine the cause.
possibly you have a leaking cooling line from your trans cooler or radiator
Hey Carol===Evidentally something was not put together right. GoodluckJoe
ABS has nothing to do with the transmission engaging on this vehicle.
If you are sure you have taken everything loose. The only thing that can cause a problem is the alignment pins between the transmission and the motor. IF there is nothing still bolted together, put a screwdriver between the trans. and the motor at the back of the block and gently drive it between the two. Steel alignment pins in an aluminum transmission can weld together pretty tight.
No.. They really have nothing in common. A speed sensor sends a signal from your transmission that is shown on your gauge in the dash. That is all the sensor does- it has nothing to do to my knowledge with the shifting functions
if its a rear wheel drive its possibly a U joint if its a front wheel drive transmission fluid is low or its just time for a new transmission or a rebuild on current transmission. rebuilding a transmission is often better because you already know the car you have verses buying a different car you know nothing about.
If this is an automatic transmission, more than likely the transmission is on it's way to the junkyard. Usually failing transmissions lose reverse first, then the higher forward gears - last will be the lowest forward gears.
there is a tsb in alldata for this loss of voltage to transmission solenoid power supply circuit cause may be after market remote starter
