Also I found inder ther hood on the drivers side running just above the frame were the exhaust manifold is clossed to the frame member a small metal pipehab vibrated lose and rubbed agaimst the Manifold and burnt threw ( fix with a small pieace of vaccum hose slide it in to place and reclip the pipe in place) it ran from the tank to the Charcoal canister, 1997 Suburban 126,000 I am the 2 nd owner and the first Babied it clean and well maintained driving from San Francisco to Chattanooga Tn I got 20 mpg running 85 to 100 with air on and a teenager driving it back in March of 09 Love this truck and on eBay I got it for 2 Grand.
