To change the heater core in a 87 ford f150 is easy. Just remove the glove box and then behind it there is 7 bolts. After you remove the 7 bolts then just remove the cover and behind it is the heater core. By far the easiest heater core I ever changed.

It depends what you define as easy, i changed one in a 1994 Chevy van and it was a pain in the ***. I don't know about ford but in the one i changed it had to come out from under the dash then I had to take the plastic casing off and it came right out. If you don't need the heater i would just by pass the heater core. All you have to do it take the hoses off the heater core and connect them together. That's way easier then replacing it. hope this helps.

It is at the bottom right hand side of the heater box. It is just below the glove compartment and to the left of the right kick panel. There is an electric motor that is exposed and has to come out the get the assembly out of the heater box. Not a difficult job. Easy to do. Piece of cake.
