If you see someone who is being bullied, do not wait to tell your parents or teachers. Most importantly, you should remember how the bullies / bully look like and how old do they look like. If you see someone being bullied you should not get physically involved. You could try telling the bully to back off but they most likely you will be bullied. You should speak to a teacher or a parent ASAP.
If they will take it seriously, then report it. The sad reality is in my country at least, management don't take this seriously unless you Union (as recommended by a reply above) or Lawyer up on them (make sure to tell your doctor how depressed you are because of the bulling at work, it's all good evidence. But you needto report it to management before calling in the lawyers, to give them a fair chance to deal with it. Tape record the incident, and also write down a transcript from the tape as in some jurisdictions you cannot tape a person without their knowledge for court evidence, your lawyer can help you with this, and if there is a jury involved you can't undo playing of a tape or hold your ignorance against you. Keep a diary of all incidents from now on.
Supposing you don't want to use the Union or (better) management then lawyers (if the management don't deal with it properly that's constructive dismissal). You can do one of two things:
If you witnessed discrimination or bullying at work, then i would first of all report it to my line manager, then i would report the problem to human resources. There are different types of bullying in the workplace, here are some examples:
* You may be physically or emotionally harassed by someone in the workplace.
* You may be ignored or made to feel isolated from you work colleagues.
* Your work might be subjected to unreasonable examination.
* A boss or manager may be abusing a position of power that he or she has over you, for example: giving you a task or work target you can't possibly meet.
If i was experiencing bullying in the workplace, then i would immediatley tell someone about it, firstly it would be my line manager, and then i would probably tell a work colleague. The more support i has, the better i would deal with the problem.
Zero tolerance, especially if it's sexual. Tell your boss, Union Steward, anybody who can help you. Tell the bully to back off. Bullies are like domestic terrorists. Their main objective is to keep you upset and/or scared.
Ask your supervisor or boss to discuss the situation with you. They are responsible for making a safe work environment for you, and thus, are the first people to go to.
It is extremely important to keep a written record of every time there was bullying, who was involved and what happened, including the actions and attitude of any supervisor or foreperson.
Get support from your friends who will back you up.
Get support from your union, if there is one.
Keep a record too of what happened when you reported to the employer and what actions he/she took. If the bullying continues you may have to go outside the workplace to police or the courts.
The website at workplacebullying.org provides many solutions and services to assist targets of workplace bullying. There is much useful free information there (as well as DVDs etc which you don't have to buy). The link is below.
If it will not aggravate the situation, stop any physical abuse and notify parents, teachers, or other adults. Bullying should never be ignored or condoned. (see the related question, and links)
Offer support to the victim.
Encourage the victim to talk with his or her parents or another trusted adult.
You should tell a friend, teacher, or trusted adult if you are a kid. If adult, you should confront them or if it is a serious case, call the authorities.
yes they should and they should tell someone one about it and stop bullying
Yes, bystanders should intervene. Having someone just standing around will not help the situation.
you should not use a computer to harm other people (bullying)
WikiAnswers treats everyone equally. Discrimination and bullying are not tolerated. No one should feel threatened by anyone or anything on WikiAnswers.
He was mistreated with the whole bus thing and wasen't treated as should.
You should stop it. What are the laws in your state or country? Are there Occupational Health and Safely Laws? Are there laws so that an employer has to provide a safe environment? That also includes safety from bullying and discrimination, as well as physical safety. If you are a supervisor and you condone bullying then you could be held liable in the future. Sometimes bullying goes on to physical injury and hospitalization. Serious charges. Don't turn a blind eye. For your own safely as well as the workers you are supposed to be supervising.

No, that isn't bullying. That is most likely the teacher attempting to help keep order, or attempting to keep two people from making a mistake. If you think they are crossing the line, you should talk to the principal or other administrators. If you think this is a case of discrimination, you should contact an organization such as the ACLU.
Everyday should be anti bullying day.
No, we should not allow Cyber bullying because: Cyber bullying can lead to someone's death.
A person who has witnessed anything is called a witness. Ideally, they should get involved or inform on the bully, but they are either afraid themselves, or they give into the "bystander effect." The bystander effect is when many people witness something and fail to act, often believing someone else will get involved. Sometimes every witness has that attitude, and nobody helps the victim.
We should because bullying is like teasing and hurting other people's feelings.
