You always start the farthest from the reservoir, pass. side rear - dr. side rear - pass. side front - dr. side front. On each wheel is a slave cylinder that operates the brakes. On the back side is a zerk fitting, You must find a box end wrench that properly fits the zerk or bleeder valve. You can purchace a self bleeder tool, or use too people to bleed the brake system . Fill the reservoir one person pump the brake petal several times and hold pressure on the petal, while the 2nd person loosens the zerk fitting realeasing the pressure from the slave cylinder on that wheel, then tighten the fitting and repeat until only fluid comes out no air. Fill reservoir and move to the next wheel. Do all four wheels in this fashion, ALWAYS keep the fluid full, if you let the fluid get low it will suck air into the system an you'll have to start all over again.

Can you put 18 or 20' rims on an 1989 cutlass ciera?

Will they fit?If the 88 strut is the same as the 89, then the answer is NO. 20" rims will fit the rear but not the front due to the clearance of the lower strut plate. Not with out some cutting and grinding. Actually they will i have a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera S and i have two sets of rims on them 18's and 20's.All you have to do is find the right width of the rim and size of the tire.(ps my first set is 18' by 7.5 and tire size 225/40.The second set is 20' by 7.5 225/30)

Steps on bleeding brakes on an 87 celebrity?

Steps on bleeding the brakes on a 1987 Chevy Celebrity. I am assuming that you know how to bleed brakes and merely want the order in which to bleed individual callipers or cylinders. If there is cause to believe that there is air in the master cylinder then it should be bled first. Then the individual wheels should be bled as follows: Right rear then left front. Left rear then right front. This per the factory service manual.

After replacing the master cylinder on your 1996 Ford Aerostar the warning lights on the dash stay lit what is the problem?

Your brakes need bleeding. And if you have antilock brakes, you should take it to a shop to bleed them. It takes special tools to bleed antilock brakes. If you have regular brakes you can bleed them yourself. Could go into further detail but would take too long to explain. Refer to a repair manual. Note: bleeding antilock brakes without first disconnecting the sensor will damage the sensor and the antilock function will no longer work (learned the hard way, unfortunately).

Why does brake pedal sink to floor when you first start out?

If you had your brakes worked on recently you need to have them bled. If not then you have a leak somewhere. Try listening to the master cylynder or the ABS resivoir and see if you can hear air coming from them. If not try bleeding your brakes and see if that helps.

What is the firing order for a 1989 Oldsmobile cutlass?

Standing in front of the vehicle looking at the the coil packs, there are three of them. From left to right, the first coil pack is 1 & 4, the second coil pack is 6 & 3, and the third coil pack is 2 & 5. Now still standing in front of the engine, the first three cylinders in front of the radiator are 2,4 & 6 and the last three near the firewall are 1,3 & 5. The firing order is 1,2,3,4,5,6 if it is a 2.8 or 3.1. What you did not say is what engine it has (2.8 VIN "W" or 3.1 VIN "T") and if it is a Cutlass Supreme or Ciera or what Cutlass.

Where is the knock sensor on 1993 Oldsmobile cutlass ciera?

First off, what size engine is in this vehicle? Usually they have 3.3L and the knock sensor is located at the rear of the block on the right hand side. It is round with a signal wire going to it. This would be looking up from the bottom of the car (on the hoist). macthemechanicca2001@yahoo.ca
