Actually Lincoln developed his early thinking about colonization of Freed slaves in his eulogy for Henry Clay in July of 1852. As an aside, he vigorously defended his colonization plans against charges of bigotry against Black people.
In fairness to Abraham Lincoln, some of the most prominent men of that era, both white and black, sincerely believed that giving freed slaves a country of their own, preferably in Africa, was the best solution. At that time, not everyone was convinced that the freed slaves could be peacefully integrated into American society (in fact, there was still great controversy over whether the two races could-- or should-- live together). The American Colonization Society, founded in 1821, promoted sending black people to live in a country created specifically for freed slaves, and any other blacks who wanted to go back to Africa-- it was called Liberia. And for a long time, Lincoln agreed with that view, though there is little evidence he actively campaigned for it or was a vocal supporter. Ultimately, he turned against the idea and became committed to helping black citizens to have a better life in the United States.
It was not Lincolns religion it was his policy to flee slaves and to forgive the defeated troops.
freed the slaves, won the civil war
his lasting impression was emancipataing the slaves and writing a letter to his friend Joshua Speed when he was 19 years old.
There was no person who made Abraham Lincoln bad. In fact, he is thought by most people to have been a very good person. He was a beloved president who helped gain freedom for slaves.
He became legend and made progress on his word stating no more slaves in north and you're not allowed to transported them either.
The Emancipation Proclamation "freed" slaves in the States that had seceded from the Union; however, this had no effect since those States did not recognize the authority of the Federal government. It said nothing about slaves in the Union states such as Tennessee. Therefore, it freed no slaves.
America sent freed slaves for the purpose of colonization to Liberia.
Abraham Lincoln was active politically during much of his career. In a speech concerning the emancipation of slaves, Lincoln offered three possible solutions in a famous speech he made in Peoria. His ideas were:1. Emancipation with the colonization of the freed slaves;2. Emancipation without colonization and having the freed slaves remaining as a "subject class", meaning a class below whites; and3. Emancipation with political and social equality with whites.
Abraham Lincoln did not own slaves.
