they make a little clip that goes on thu can unplug the two wired un the back of the peg for the dome light or you can unplug the two wires on the back of the peg
it could be the bulb, switch(located in door post near hinges)or fuse.
need location of fuse for dome and radio.
The dome light fuse on a 2003 Jeep Liberty can be changed by first locating the fuse panel near the hood release. The dome light fuse can then be pulled from its socket and a new fuse put in place.
remove the nuts at the bottom of the hinge posts, lift the door stop strap up on the inside of the door so it clears the hook, then just lift the door straight up. You will need to figure out a way to shut off the dome light with the doors off, I installed a toggle switch on mine.
Most Jeep Wranglers have a door light cutoff fuse. Look in the fuse box and read the labels. You should just be able to remove the fuse to kill the lights if you have removed the doors.
I do'nt want to just pull the fuse so what is the best way to keep my dome lights "off" when i take the doors off my 2004 Jeep Wrangler X

remove the nuts at the bottom of the hinges, pen the door, unhook the limiter strap and lift the door up
It is more than likely an issue with the rear flipper glass switch. In the models with this feature, the sensor that detects the glass closed will break, causing the interior dome light to stay on. To verify this, remove your rear (hatch) door panel and disconnect the wires going to the door glass switches. If this resolves your issue, you can purchase a new switch from a Jeep dealer. The door switch or you may have one of the negitve wires that connect to the door switch touching ground.
