Sounds like it could be a bad earth, i would check the connections going to the starter and clean them up with sandpaper or similer and try that.
Interesting?? I had my starter and battery replaced on my 2002 Saturn VUE and within a few months my low beams ands daytime running lights went out. Dealer says the post in the fuse block is burnt and the entire block needs to be replaced at a cost of over $600.
Don't use a computer much and don't spell well, sorry. I have a 2000 chev. S-10. I have changed the starter 3 times this last year, it works well for 4 to 6 months. then quits it just did again. The battery is charged and good, the lights are bright, the starter clicks but wont turn over. what else can I check? Thank you. Rich E. Don't use a computer much and don't spell well, sorry. I have a 1994 Polaris 4x4 with a battery that is about 9 months old and it won't start. I can hear the cylinoid clicking which is next to the battery. I have tried to jump the battery, but have no change in the results. The lights seem nice and bright so I don't think the battery is dead. I am leaning towards a starter problem, is this correct?
"Mag lights are very strong and can last for months. With regular daily use though because you are draining the batteries, you will probably have to replace the battery."
I am having this problem right now, the battery is 2 months old, changed the starter 2 days ago, and drove it tonight. I just had to get a ride home when I turned the key I heard a click, the radio and lights and door beeping thing all came on. I'm thinking of the starter relay or something else. That just leaves me with the question where is the starter relay located in the car.
Sounds like a defective starter, but check your battery cables and connections. Make sure you are getting power at the starter when you turn the key to the start position. Could be a relay too.
starter
Hi, I think you should check your car alternator and starter. It is common problems
AnswerDid you buy the battery from new or was it a spare? Clicking sound when trying to turn key in ignition is usually low battery. The radio and lights may still work for a few minutes if there is enough charge left but the engine wont turn over. Turn off all lights, alarm and radio - wait 20minutes and try to turn engine over. Or failing that do what I've said below:Get someone to jump start your car with jumper leads. Once its running, drive your car around for half hour to one hour to re-charge battery. If fault isn't with battery then it could be alternator or spark plugs. Dodgy spark plugs can cause the car not to start.AnswerYou probably have a loose connection or corrosion. Clean battery terminals and ends of wires.Answertry the starter solenoidAnswerMake sure your battery posts are clean and the cable connectors are clean & tight. If this is not problem don't have another answer.ANSWERYou might have to replace the ignition swith.
Check the charge on the battery, it may be faulty even though its not old. If the battery is charged then the starter motor may be old, brushes wear out over time.
it needed a new battery duhh
In all likelihood there is something wrong with your car's charging system so that the battery is not being kept charged. It is also possible that some load, such as a glove box light is staying on, causing the battery to be continuously discharged and recharged which would weaken it. It is also possible that your starter is bad, causing excessive current to be pulled during cranking, which would damage your battery. Never replace a battery, starter, or alternator without having a professional comprehensive evaluation of the status of all three components, because they are all interrelated.
