Put a 1/8" Allen wrench through the open of the vacuum advance canister where the vacuum hose goes. Screw it in to slow the rate of advance and screw it out to speed it up. I think it works on a spring preload system.

On a 1993 Ford E-150 GASOLINE engine : Follow the spark plug wires to the distributor cap on top of the distributor On the 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch inline six cylinder engine ( the distributor is on the DRIVERS SIDE of the engine ) On the V8 engines it is ( near the front of the engine on the top of the engine )
