Where did Paul Revere start his ride?

He took the water route and met Dawes at Lexington with a horse. Then he went to Concord and was detained and questioned. He said that there were colonists ready to fight. The British heard gunshots proving the accusation from Paul. So, they released him, and he went to Lexington right on time to here the first gunshot to American independence.

Paul Revere went to concord from Boston in order to inform Samuel Adams and john Hancock about the british plans. then, he went back to lexington (where he got captured) with Dr. Samuel Prescott and Willliam Dawes, then retreated to burlington, and afterwards came back to concord, thenn back to Boston.

William Dawes and Dr. Prescott finished the ride to Concord. Revere was paid 30 shillings for the ride and the story we know today about it comes from Longfellow's poem "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" written a 100 years after the event. He used Revere because he could use the rhyme better. There was a young man named Israel Bessel who actually travelled further and longer than Revere and a young woman named Sibyl Lunginton who also rode to warn colonial towns in the area.

The fable of Revere comes from a Longfellow poem written in 1861 and in reality he didn't ride through the night yelling about the British coming. Longfellow wrote his poem on the eve of the civil war to remind people of the nation's history. Somehow the poem became part of history and was put into history books as fact. Revere never finished the ride, his horse was taken away and he was held by a British patrol, but thanks to Longfellow we all know who he is. He billed Congress for the ride and the cost of the horse since it was taken from him and it didn't belong to him. It was borrowed. His one big contribution was the picture on a flier after the Boston Massacre showing colonist getting shot by the British. This was pure Propaganda and was used to incite discontent between the colonist and the British troops.
