Queen Victoria lived much of the time in Buckingham Palace in London. She also spent time in Balmoral, in Scotland, and in Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
She seemed to favor the Balmoral palace in Scotland and also the isle of Wight, where she died in the Osborn House in 1901.
It depends on what class. Poor Victorian children lived in the slums with their parents and they were lucky to make it to the age of 5. Rich Victorian children lived in fine manor houses etc with maids to look after them.
Life was cruel for children of the poor in the Victorian Age. They worked from an early age under dangerous conditions, lived under horribly unhygienic conditions, had extremely poor nutrition, were exposed to disease both from working conditions and contaminated food and water and had no medical treatment available. They wore rags as clothing. The health of children who toiled in Victorian factories was ruined before they reached maturity.
Children of the rich had a different experience. Although they lived in more healthy conditions with beautiful homes, medical care when they were sick and good food, they were expected to act like little adults. They wore miniature versions of cumbersome, adult style clothing. Very young boys wore dresses. Boys were educated and girls were taught "feminine skills" such as sewing, embroidery and painting. Girls were groomed to be good, obedient wives.
good for the rich because they could go to school and have spare times also because they do not have to do any jobs. no good for the children in the poor homes because they had to do jobs and had no spare time at all also because they can not go to school and get a good job
The Victorian children's jobs were mainly to get to underground mining holes. This was later banned and it prohibited women and children below 10 years from working in the mines.
