yThey were mainly farm workers, simply working the land. This occurred because the Indians refused to be slaves to their own land. They would have rather died proud than to be made a slave. This is why the Europeans bought Africans to be their slaves. However, the so called lucky ones were able to work in factories and some were even shoe makes.
