Most of the vehicles I recall seeing had a plug at the very rear of the vehicle under the body. It's more toward the drivers side of the vehicle I think it was a 4 or 5 pin connector plug and it lays tightly to the body . Some of the pickups had them on the frame rail in front of the rear axle ,but there was none for some models.

You can find a trailer wiring harness for a Chevrolet in a Haynes repair manual. The manuals are available at most auto parts stores.
You will find the tail light harness under the back of the vehicle. Unplug the harness and plug in the trailer harness between the two vehicle connectors. The kit should also contain instructions.

check the bulbs if that does not work,check your wiring harness.i had the same thing happen to me and it was my wiring harness
