This is something you may want to talk to a Toyota service manager first. The 5.7L engine is very different than what you might expect. The oil filter is NOT as "can" filter like every other filter. The drain is under the skid plate but that is just the beginning of the adventure. There are 4 screws that are required to be removed to get to the oil filter than you will need a special tool to remove the oil filter. If and I mean If you get it back all together then the oil required is 0-5 viscosity ( check with the dealer.) Like I said talk to a service manager first to find out what is involved. Also you will notice there is no dipstick for the transmission either. It's designed to go 100,000 miles before an oil change and MUST be done by the dealer.
There are 3 drain plugs on the Toyota Tundra V8 engine and radiator. On the radiator petcock, the plastic thumbscrew, and drain valves are on the bottom, driverâ??s side of the radiator.
Small plug on the bottom left(view from front) of the radiator.
There are actually three coolant drain plugs on the 2001 Tundra. Speaking of a 4.7 liter engine, there is one drain plug at the bottom of the driver's side of the radiator. The skid plate/splash shield need to be removed in order to access this. It is a plastic butterfly type and should be easily removed by hand or with the aid of pliers. The other two are located on the driver's side of the engine block. This truck takes over 12 quarts of coolant so these two drain plugs need to be opened in order to completely empty the coolant from the system.
Probably at the rear or side of the oil pan
It doesn't have one. It has a special fluid in it called Toyota world standard which is never supposed to be changed. It does not have a dipstick, because it actually has to be checked with a Toyota diagnostic tool in a special transmission mode because the fluid has to be checked between a very specific temp range. I work for a dealer in parts. Dont drain the fluid it will have to be towed to fix it.
To bleed the brakes on a 2000 Toyota Tundra, first pump the brakes, then loosen the drain plug on the master cylinder and pump another 3 to 6 times. Tighten the plug and add brake fluid.
That really all depends on what you are draining, the oil drain plug is located directly under the engine.
The engine oil drain plug torque spec is 19 Ft-lbs.
Bottom of the engine on the oil pan.
Believe it or not you can not check the transmission oil on a 2007-2010 Tundra with a 5.7 leader engine and possibly the 4.7L engine. It is designed to go 100,000 miles before servicing and IT MUST BY DONE BY THE DEALER. it has to be brought up to a certain temperature and need a special tool to check it. Talk to a Toyota service manager if you don't believe me. There is no dipstick. I had a conversation with a service manager and he said "You can't believe how many people drain the transmission and then can't figure out how to refill it and have to tow it back here to get it fixed." Also look in your "Owners Manual" and you will not find anything on servicing the transmission by the owner.
