The regulator won't be shown separately on your Pontiac. Most GM vehicles of that vintage had Alternators with built in regulators.
You need battery power, compression, spark and fuel to run, you are missing one of those.
If it has a 700R4, it is in the tail shaft of the tranny on the drivers side.
Sounds like a rotten Hall Sensor (Camshaft sensor), replace it and your problem is gone
The Thermostat is right directly above the valve cover. If you follow the top radiator hose towards the engine, the thermostat is there at the end of the hose. Good luck!
The fuel pump is mounted dead center of the fuel tank. The tank must be removed in order to replace the pump.
Remove set screw. Then tap the rotor with a hammer. The rotor should break free. It has just rusted itself to the axle, due to condensation.

It has a 3.8 Liter not a 3.6. The firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2. You may also want to look at the link to the right, About.com
It should be imprinted om the intake. If it's got the Chevy motor, it should be 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2-. good luck.
