All Automatic Transmissions have a dipstick - Manual Transmissions don't always. Manual trannies use a gear oil called Hypoid Oil, usually 90 weight which is a very heavy (thick) oil. The location for adding Hypoid oil varies with car manufacturers.
The 1996 Honda Accord transmission has a fluid capacity of 5.3 quarts. You can check the transmission fluid level with the transmission fluid dipstick.

To check the transmission fluid on the 1995 Honda Accord, just let the vehicle idle for a few moments on level ground. Then remove the dipstick and wipe it clean. Insert the dipstick and remove it again. This will be the fluid level.

there is a long neck funnel especially for servicing the tranny fluid. stick in the dipstick tube and pour the fluid from there, with the funnel.
