There are three ground wires coming off the negative post on your battery. The fat one goes to the starter and provides ground for the engine. One of the smaller grounds goes to the body, mine connects to the body right behind the right headlight assembly. The second smaller ground wire goes to a box labeled "Electronic Ground", mounted on the inside of the right fender well, and provides ground for the myriad electronics on the car. Hope this helps.

It is the ground wire for the fuel pump. The Red wire is the power wire for the pump. the dark blue is the signal wire for the gauge and the black is the ground for the gauge.

Flickering lights, on a Cadillac STS, is usually a sign of a loose wire. When all of the lights flicker, it is an indication of a loose battery ground cable.
