The Adriatic Sea is largely surrounded by Italy's East coast, Strait of Otranto and Croatia (Europe). It is a portion of Mediterranean Sea separating the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan Peninsula. Its length is about 805 km (500 miles) and its average depth is about 240m.
