The Drivers side right under the Power Steering pump at the front of the engine. Seems best to remove the radiator first to save some time or go under the front with the proper ratchet and/or wrench.

Begin by removing the retaining ring at the top of your 1986 Toyota pickup truck ignition switch. The ignition switch will slide out. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the ignition switch.
There are two bolts on the bottom of the alternator that you can't see but you can feel them, these are the pivot bolts, remove them. Then remove the adjustment bolt on top of the alternator. Remove wiring from back of alternator. Reverse instructions for install.
