Hi,
I just replaced the resistor on my '98 Intrigue- it's quite possible they are located similarly. The resistor is located under the dash on the passenger side, right behind the blower. I had to pull the blower out to gain better access to the resistor assembly. There is a short cable assembly that connects the resistor to the blower so if you look for the two wires that come out of the back of the blower they should lead you right to the resistor.
The resistor is very hard to get to because of the hex head screws being right up against the floorboard but you only need to loosen the two back screws and remove the one in front to be able to pull the resistor assembly out. If you can get a small 5/16" socket on the screw heads you should be able to loosen them enough. There will be a larger cable assembly plugged into the resistor also. The whole procedure took me about a half hour, not a bad job but just hard to maneuver down there. !
It is on the evaporator case and is held in with 2 screws.
Either it's the switch on the dash (unlikely) or the blower motor resistor pack (very likely). The resistor pack is usually easy to replace.
It is under the dashboard against the firewall. You have to remove the blower motor first by folding yourself up into a ball, but it can be done.
The blower motor resistor is generally located close to the blower motor.
A blower resistor can be replaced, in your 2002 Oldsmobile, by removing the resistor wiring. Remove the retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new resistor.
replacing the blower motor resistor which cost about 20 bucks or so.....hope this helps
Well i heard plenty of reasons but the one that actually worked for my olds intrigue 98' was replacing the blower motor resistor which cost about 20 bucks or so.....hope this helps
ITS IN THE FUSE BOX. THERES TWO OF THEM, ONE IS LABELED TOP BLOWER AND THE OTHER LOWER BLOWER.
Disconnect the battery negative cable. !!!Power is still on when ignition switch off!!!I have Olds Intrigue 2000. Blower control resistor (Controller) located behind theblower motor. Very close to the firewall, and it is a pain in the neck to get there.Using 5.5 mm. socket remove the blower first. (3 screws are holding the blower)Using the same socket (5.5 mm) remove one visible screw which holds the resistor. You will have to loosen two other screws located between the resistor and firewall. You don't need to remove them completely, just loosen them! Resistor just slides outwhen they loose.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Disconnect the battery negative cable.Remove the RH instrument panel insulator retainers. Adjust the carpet for access.Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the instrument panel insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.Remove the RH instrument panel insulator.Disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower motor resistor.Disconnect the blower motor resistor electrical connector from the blower motor.Loosen, do not remove, both forward screws. The blower motor resistor opening is slotted as access is extremely limited.Remove the rearward screw.Remove the blower motor resistor.
Under the glove box and air bag. Remove the airbag fuse and disconnect the battery before attempting to remove the blower motor.
its under your fuse panel on the fire wall there is to nuts to remove
Blown fuse, bad motor, bad blower motor switch, or a defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack.
