i found it! it is up past the air intake hose near the firewall.
To check the brake fluid level on a 99 Subaru Forester, you need to open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir. This is located on the master cylinder. There will either be a dipstick in the reservoir, or a line embossed on the side that says 'full.' If needed, add DOT 3 brake fluid.
According to the Owner Guide , the brake and clutch fluid systems are supplied by the same reservoir on a 1999 Mercury Cougar
The brake fluid is contained in a translucent reservoir with a black cap on the driver's side firewall. To add brake fluid, remove the cap and fill to the appropriate level on the dipstick indicator.
I'm not positive about the '99 model year, but the hydraulic clutch shares the fluid reservoir with the brake system in earlier Mazda models.
DOT 3 brake fluid.
DOT 3 brake fluid
I have to replace my brake booster on my 99 vw beetle elite. I need the instructions on how to do this. Any ideas. Thanks
Type Dot 4 Brake Fluid Will Be Ok
the brake fluid reservoir is at the back of the engine bay, to get to it you need to remove the large trim that covers the entire width of the car underneath the windscreen wiper control arms. once this is off you will see the resivoir at the back left of the bay.
If you look straight down, standing on the driver side by the wheel, between the battery and the brake fluid reservoir, you will see a red handle dip stick, this is also the refill hole.
97-99 spyder eclipse relocated the washer fluid reservoir tank to the trunk. under the spare tire.
