It is nnear where the heater core pipe enters the block. It is where a distributer would have been before EFI.

Disconnect the battery. On the side of the throttle body, disconnect the wiring from the position sensor. Remove the bolts from the sensor, and lift the sensor off, reverse the procedure to install the new one.


We had the same problem, and our 1998 F150 needed a new instrument cluster.

Bottom of the throttle body near lower intake hose.


The speed sensor is mounted in the top of the rear differential on a 1999 F150. Remove the wires, then unbolt the sensor to remove it.


If you cant find your 2000 F150 4.2 V6 Temp. gauge sensor on the intake manifold, try looking underneath the engine. Back of driver side cyl. head that's where I found mine sensor was broken off. Jumper this connection turn key to on position, if gauge goes replace sensor.


Throttle position sensor mine was unplugged and caused that.

facing the truck it is on the left side towards the front of the engine behind the a/c compressor. You would have to remove the compressor to gain access to the sensor



www.motorcraft.com does not list a MAP sensor for the 4.2 L V6 , 4.6 L or 5.4 L V8 engines for a 2003 F150 , they list an air mass sensor which I assume is the MAF sensor
