I was looking at the 1998 Ford Escort owners manual and it shows : There is a group of 6 ( 5 fuses and 1 space ) outside of the passenger compartment main fuse panel ( The cigar lighter is the only fuse that is a YELLOW colored 20 amp fuse in that group of 5 fuses ) The diagram shows CIGAR , but I don't know if that is just for the diagram
#1 - 20 amp fuse - cigar lighter ( in the fuse panel , below and to the left of the steering wheel , by the brake pedal )
check the fuel pump fuse- cigar lighter fuse, you may have shorted the wires.
1996 Owners Manual, page 344 indicates:* Fuse #3, named "Dimmer Illumination", 5amp fuse, dash lights, control switch lighting, Cigar lighter light plus a whole bunch more * Fuse #22, named "Rear Cigar/Power Plug", 20amp fuse, rear cigar lighter * Fuse #28, named "Front Cigar lighter", 15amp fuse, front lighter I would expect these fuse designations to be applicable to 1995 - 1998 Windstars.Best resource is the individual model year Owners Manual- see below For Windstar 1998, the fusepanel is under the driver side and you can replace the miniture fuse with the same rating (20 or 30 amps ???). Please check first that the cigarette lighter is not shorted. Good luck.. Get fuse #28 i/pfuse is burned out.It is fuse #28 in the fusebox located in the fusebox under the dash on the driver side of vehicle. It requires a 20amp fuse. # 28 is third row from bottom and second column from right.# 28 is a 15 amp fuse for the front cigarette lighter# 22 nis a 20 amp fuse for the rear cigarette lighter and power point( in the fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side )
Fuse #30. It's not in the owners manual.
Passenger's Side Fascia Position #14 20 amp fuse (yellow) I have a 2002 Jaguar XK8 and the fuse panel is on the driver's side of the dashboard. My cig lighter is not working. The fuses are not numbered. Can you provide a diagram with fuse number and function?
Great Adventure Cigar was created on 1998-05-11.
The Owner Guide shows fuse # 17 / 7.5 amp fuse / for cigar lighter If you wish to view the Owner Guide ( which includes the fuse panel diagram ) Click on the link below Click on Owner Guides
It should be listed in your owner's manual. If in doubt, try removing the negative cable from your battery.
