I have a '90 so I think it would be the same, on mine it is at the front of the engine on the bottom pulley. (crankshaft pulley or vibration dampener) To view the scale and mark I have to look down, a little on the drivers side of center. Beside the break resivour is a good viewpoint, looking just over the timing light. I have to run the timing pickup coil in through the drivers door or window and into the open doghouse cover. Good luck. God Bless!
The timing mark on a Chevy Inline 6 engine is located on the flywheel. It is a steel ball. The timing needs to?æbe located at 4 degrees BTDC.
If you look at the harmonic balance you will see on the front of it a medium size circle. That will be your timing mark.
That requires an OBDII engine scanner to do that.
some one put the wrong balancer on the crank. or put it on inside out...
there will be a timing mark on the harmonic balancer. and a timing tab on the timing chain cover. point your timing light at the timing tab and you should see the timing mark on balancer. if not timing is way out.markstang.
30 degrees dwell, timing is the second mark above the O mark on the timing tab.
pin the engine on the flywheel. line the timing mark on the cam gear with the timing mark located on the timing cover. the mark on the cover is located at the top and is just a bump formed in the cover.

the mark on the camshaft timing gear needs to line up with the mark on the crankshaft timing gear to ensure the camshaft is in proper time with the crankshaft. Keep in mind that the marks will only line-up every other revolution of the engine due to the crankshaft spinning twice as fast as the camshaft.
The fuel pam timing mark Scania 400 is on the engine.
A timing mark is usually a white line on the timing belt to sync the firing of cylinders in an engine. You can see this line when the engine is turned off or with a timing light also a strobe light when the engine is running.
