I have a 92' Mustang and to fix the dome light coming on and to have the warning sound for my headlights all I had to do was replace the door jam switch on the drivers side. That little nub that sticks out on the frame by the hinges. It should screw out and be connected in the back, you can get them for like $10? at Advance Auto Parts.

The fuse should be in the fusebox for it, look in your owners manual for it's position in the fusebox.
The Mustang has 2 fuse boxes. The lighter fuse is located under the dash on the drivers side. The fusebox under the hood is for the engine.
