I have a 1996 Oldsmobile 88 and my fan stopped. While searching the Internet I came across AUTOZONE.COM's Repair Site. It has a lot of info and diagrams. Here's a link to the diagram showing the location of the BLOWER RELAY under the hood: http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/15/eb/f8/0900823d8015ebf8/repairInfoPages.htm It's the FIRST drawing on the page. I cannot verify that the relay positions as listed are correct. The locations listed as ABS PUMP RELAY and MAIN RELAY are empty on my 1996, 88. I pulled the relay listed as BLOWER RELAY in the diagram. Here is the information on it: Pins: 5

Mfg: OMRON

White letters on the TOP: D 5174

Numbers on the FACE: 12077864 D00 Z7365 Pin Positions: _ _

30 86 _ _ _

85 87a 87

You don't bypass it, you replace it. It doesn't cost that much

It may not have one on a '73. If it does it would be under the dash.

The 1996 Oldsmobile fan relay switch can be found in the fuse box. The fan relay switch will be in the third column, second from the top.
