On my '97 3.9l it is located on the back side of the trottle body. It is held on by two torx or Allen screws. All you need to do is remove the air hat to get to it. I cleaned up the port that the plunger goes in with carb cleaner and wooden stick with a rag on the end. Be careful not to scratch or damage it. The part costs about $50.
