The 1990 Chevy Celebrity engine is distributorless, the ignition is handled by a combination of the engine control module(computer) and the ignition control module. You did not mention which engine the car has. If your car has the 4 cylinder engine the ignition control module is below the intake manifold at the rear of the engine. You can follow the spark plug wires to it. The coils are mounted to the ignition control module. If your car has the V6 the ignition control module is near the starter and again you can follow the spark plug wires to it. Again the coils are mounted to the ignition control module.
somewhere on the engine
Depending on what type engine you have, the ignition module may be an integral part of the distributor cap.
Ignition power control is located on the intake driver side next to intake motor control looks like small module black color. This is for 95 diamante with 3.0 SOHC engine.

In a gasoline engine, it is a fuel-air mixture that is drawn in during the intake stroke, unless the engine is fuel injected. In a fuel injected or a diesel engine, it is air, because the fuel (gasoline or diesel) is injected at the "last moment" before ignition.
The ignition control module is located on the left side of the engine, it is what the coil packs are attached to. If you remove both coil packs and unplug the two connections it will come right off.
Lower passenger side of engine block, the coils are attached to it.
The heat from compression is so high that the fuel will auto-ignite when injected.
A 66 Mustang regardless of engine doesn't have an ignition module from the factory. It uses breaker points inside of the distributor housing to directly control the ignition coil.
The ECM (engine control module ) is located on the center of the firewall just above the motor. It's the thing that has a lot of wires going to it.
It has no carburetor. This engine is Fuel Injected.
