I believe it's sticking out of the intake manifold somewhere depending on the engine size. yeah if it's a v8 it should be on the number two intake runner

Service manual says the IAT(intake air temp) sensor is installed into the intake manifold plenum near the left side of throttle body. it appears to screw in and out.
It is under the alternator.
the Intake Air Temperature Sensor (IAT) could also be called the Manifold Air Temperature Sensor (MAT) some instances they are both.

It should be the plug on the intake just before the Throttle Body.
