on v-6 the oil filter is the drain
Dude . . . the oil pan drain plug is near the oil filter on the passenger side very close to the transmission bell housing. Removing the oil filter will drain some of the oil, sure, but if you want to empty the crankcase you will need to pull the drain plug. Check your manual for the correct torque to use when replacing the plug and don't forget to use a new gasket.
There is no drain plug for the transmission pan so this is kind of hard to screw up. Just check your fluid levels after draining the oil if you're concerned you might have emptied the wrong thing. As always, I am not a mechanic and your mileage may vary. .

∙ 15y agoIts hidden by the air dam under the radiator. You can remove air dam, only 5 bolts or just bend it down and remove plug.

∙ 9y agoThe 2006 Toyota oil drain plug can be found on the bottom of the oil pan. The oil drain plug can be removed with a 9/16 wrench.

∙ 15y agoIt is screewed into the oil pan. just look are run your hand around the bottom sides of the oil pan and you will find it. The oil pan is whats bolted to the bottom of the engine.

Gregory, to get at that drain bolt you have to get under your car. It is located slightly above the oil filter. I am planning on changing my radiator and will be doing this as well. Good luck.
