To access the oil filer you need to get under your CRV. The oil filer is above the oil drain plug - it is difficult to see when looking down from under the hood. I worked from underneath and needed car up on ramps. Its located at the back of the engine above the front drive shaft - not much room. Not enough space for a strap wrench to work but managed to get a 1/2" socket driven chain wrench with fine ratchet handle to loosen it. Otherwise use Honda's end cap drive oil filter wrench. Note Honda's current replacement filter is smaller diameter 65mm then previously 80mm giving a bit better access - third party filters may still be old size. Make real sure that no trace of old rubber seal left behind and new seal is lubed before fitting as they are reports on the web of numerous CRV car fires just after filter change due to oil leaks which go straight down onto exhaust and catch fire. Honda recommend running engine for at least 3mins then check for any oil leaks. Google for tt123.pdf from Mighty Auto Parts.

The oil filter is accesible only from underneath the car. It is located next to the oil drain plug. Car must be on approved car ramp or on approved car stands placed on paved or concrete surface.
The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the engine near the oil filter.
A Honda CRV tune-up should include replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires. The tune-up should also include changing the oil and the oil filter.
