fuel gage sending unit inside the fuel tank
It could be your fuel gauge or your sending unit or the wires connecting them . If you have dual tanks it could be the switch that changes tanks. The most likely culprit is the sending unit in the tank.
Should be on the intake driver side toward the front
The sending unit is mounted on the top or in the top of your fuel tank. It consists of the tubes your fuel line goes to and usually a fuel return or vapor line. On my 88 b-250 it's secured buy a big plastic ring you unscrew from the tank and pull the unit out from the tank, in it is the fuel pump as wel but that can be taken out and replaced seperatly from the sending unit.
