Oil pumps are generally located in the crankcase. You must remove the oil pan to get to it.
On the 4.0 L - OHV - V6 engine , the oil pressure sending unit is on the drivers side of the engine below the power steering pump
On a Ford Aerostar : I know on the 4.0 liter EFI engine ( which is an Over Head Valve / push rod design engine ) the sending unit for the oil pressure gauge is below the power steering pump on the drivers side of the engine

The fuel pump on a 1997 Ford Aerostar XLT is located on right side under the battery. This is connected to the back wall.

When the Aerostar is equipped with this switch, it is located at the P.S. pump. A branch off of the engine harness at the intake manifold usually comes down to plug into the switch, and the connector is identical to the one on the coolant temp sensor on the manifold. Sometimes, however, the switch is absent.
