good luck with this it took me like 5 hours to figure it out the sensor is right next to the water pump on the right side underneith the power sterring pump u have to take the serpentine belt off and get a pulley puller for the power sterring pulley when u get that off u take the bracket off and u can get to the sensor a lot easier there will be wire hooked up to it so u should see it if u don't take the power sterring oulley off u will be struggling for hours like me but good luck
The oil sending unit is located directly under the oil filter...it has a electrical wire leading to it that you simply remove, then unscrew the sending unit...the reverse to install.

i just put a 4.6 in a 1994, the oil sending unit is located right on the oil filter bracket, ( where the oil filter screws on ) it has one wire that pushes onto it,
should be right next to the oil filter

On my 1995 Ford Explorer, with the 4.0 L OHV engine, the sending unit for the oil pressure guage is located just below the power steering pump.
the sending unit is located near the bottom of the block on the left ( driver side) it is on the same harness as the oil level switch
