The Ottoman Empire's borders fluctuated over time but it was based in what is today Turkey. They also controlled various parts of the Middle East, Northern Africa, and the Balkans at one point or another.

The first Ottoman state were located in Bilecik region of Turkey were was close to the central Anatolia since 1299. Since 1500s, Ottomans were located over today's Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Israel, Iraq, Moldova, the coastal Arabian Peninsula, Armenia, south of Ukraine (Crimea).
