Where is the oxygen sensor on a 1989 Pontiac Grand Am?

Most O2 sensors are in the Exhaust pipe running from the back of the manifold. It is silver with a single black wire running to it. It threads into the exhaust pipe like a spark plug and can usually be accessed from under the hood. Happy Wrenching.

check your mass air flow sensor. Im having the same problem right now with my 1991 Pontiac Grand Prix & i had a mechanic tell me it was my mass air flow sensor.

The oxygen sensor for my 1989 190E 2.6 is located on top of the exhaust just underneath the passenger side of the car. The wiring from the 02 sensor runs up underneath the passenger side floorboard carpet.

The engine supplies vacuum where needed to operate certain functions. Unless it is a diesel, I never heard of a vacuum pump on a Pontiac Grand Prix.
